Nuxe Prodigieuse Shower Oil Review 🚿

In case you haven’t heard of Nuxe before, Nuxe stands for Natural + Luxe. It is most famous for its Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse multi-purpose oil. It is a face, body and hair oil that repairs, protects and hydrates; and claims to be a firm fixture in every French woman’s toiletry bag. The oil is the bestseller for the brand with millions of bottles sold all over the world. A lot has been said about the Huile Prodigieuse but what about this alternative product? The Nuxe Prodigieuse Shower Oil.

We can start by saying that it has the legendary scent of Huile Prodigieuse (orange blossom, magnolia, vanilla); and the formula contains 92.2% natural origin ingredients, according to their website, which makes it suitable for all skin types.

My Experience

I decided to buy this product for my trip to the Caribbean. As my skin is very photosensitive and I can’t wear perfume or heavily scented creams under the hot summer sun without getting a skin rash. I thought that a shower gel that leaves a fresh fragrance on my skin while hydrating it after the sun exposure should be my best choice.

My first impresion was that it feels luxurious and I love the scent. It lathers up to a silky foam and it leaves the skin soft and moisturised without a ‘tight’ feeling after.

It contains golden shimmer of mineral origin which you can see in the product but do not expect it to leave any glitters or shimmer on your skin after rinse. If that is the effect you’re looking for, I’d recommend applying a highlighter (I use this one from Mac on my shoulders and neckline) or a glow highlight fluid like this one from Chanel.

To sum it up, this shimmer shower oil is a pleasure to use and a joy for the senses: it gently cleans and leaves the skin fragrant and satiny soft. Perfect for summer but recommended all year long.
